locked in. by blackr — privacy policy

the short version

locked in. does not sell or share your data, and never asks for your email or real name. everything stays in your own browser, unless you choose to join the weekly leaderboard. then only a username, an avatar and your focus minutes are sent.

what is stored, and where

to work, the extension saves these things locally in chrome storage on your device:

• your settings, chosen theme and block list
• your current session timer
• your streak, daily focus minutes and session history (for stats)
• your "top 3 today" items
• your music player state (track and volume)

none of this is sent anywhere, except what's listed under "weekly leaderboard" below, and only if you join it.

weekly leaderboard (optional)

if you choose to join the leaderboard, the extension sends these to our server (a cloudflare worker at api.byblackr.com):

• the username and preset avatar you pick (shown publicly on the leaderboard)
• for each finished focus session: its start time and length in minutes
• your current streak number

that's it. no email, no real name, no browsing history, no list of sites. to stop abuse, the server briefly keeps a scrambled (hashed) version of your ip address when a new profile is created, for one hour. you can change your username or delete your profile any time from "edit profile" on the leaderboard. deleting it removes your profile and all its sessions from our server right away. if you never join, nothing is sent.

sync

if you turn on sync (pro), your streak, settings and theme are saved to chrome sync storage, which is part of your own google account's chrome sync. we can't see it.

website access

the extension blocks distracting sites only while a focus session is running. it does not read page content, track the sites you visit or keep any browsing history. access to sites you add yourself is asked for only when you add them.

no tracking

no analytics, no ads, no cookies, no third-party trackers. the music is bundled inside the extension.

deleting your data

removing the extension from chrome deletes everything it saved on your device. if you joined the leaderboard, delete your profile first from "edit profile" (or email us your username) to remove it from our server too.
